The best alcohol treatment is personal alcohol treatment. Addiction is an intimate disease, after all, and addiction treatment has to go forward on intimate terms. An alcohol rehab program that isn’t tailored to your unique individual interests can’t help you get sober. It’s as simple as that. You don’t need anyone to tell you that you are your own person. No one has ever experienced alcoholism quite like you have. By the same token, no one else’s alcohol rehabilitation program will be exactly like yours. Alcohol treatments, you might say, aren’t and can’t ever be one-size-fits-all.

Some Los Angeles alcohol rehabs take the time to evaluate each of their patients on a case-by-case basis. Some don’t. The difference is more important than any in the world. Alcohol treatment can’t work if it’s conducted on an assembly-line basis. To get better, you need nuanced and personalized care. With so much to lose, and so much more to win, you simply can’t afford anything less than that.

Private alcohol rehabs can only be successful to the extent that they’re staffed by competent, compassionate professionals. People matter in the alcohol rehabilitation process. If you’re going to get better, it’s going to be because you get the care you need from counselors and therapists you can trust. The practical implication, obviously, is that you have to do your homework before you enroll in an alcohol rehabilitation facility. The best alcohol rehab center is the one that feels like home. Alcohol rehabs that fail to create serene, secure environments for their patients can’t ever expect to be successful. For your own sake, don’t learn that lesson the hard way.

Remember, no one can look out for your own best interests like you can. In exploring your alcohol rehab options, it’s vital that you understand exactly what you need…and exactly who can give it to you. Some alcohol rehabs can help their patients get where they need to go. Some can’t. It’s up to you to learn enough to distinguish the former from the latter.

During my 90 days at alcohol rehab I experienced more ups and downs than I could ever hope to include in a short write-up. There were the good days and there were the bad, but in the end they all added up to precisely what I came for: alcohol rehabilitation. Alcoholism had left me in a shattered state, without the hope or energy one needs in order to make any kind of life recovery. Three months ago I found myself in a state of total stagnation and despair; my alcohol addiction had led me to a point of desperate immobility where nothing existed outside my alcohol abuse. I was truly at the brink of death with nothing to call my own but a broken soul. I had no future. When I finally reached a point where I was prepared to make a serious change in order to save my life, I was presented with an opportunity to go to rehab, a safe place, where I could learn some tools for sobriety as well as for living a healthy life. I gained so much more. I have never before in my life had an opportunity to take three months for myself; a time to peel back the layers and walls of my inner and outer personality and to explore the many corridors and shadows that have helped to create the person I was and the person I am today.

People that suffer from alcoholism, or alcohol addiction, can’t just enjoy one glass with dinner, or have only one beer on that hot summer day. For the alcoholic, it’s not about enjoying the sip, or the refreshment. It’s about escaping what they perceive to be a miserable life and drowning what they think ails them with alcohol. As they say, one drink is too many and a hundred isn’t enough. There are many solutions to alcohol abuse. One is an alcohol rehabilitation center. Alcohol rehabs provide the alcoholic long-term solutions to live a happy life, without needing alcohol to have a good time. Some alcoholics recognize they have a problem and voluntarily enter an alcohol rehabilitation program. Others, who are so deep into their alcoholism and don’t recognize they need help, need an intervention to get there. Either way is okay, because the result is the same. The alcoholic gets the help they need to recover and start living their life.

Actually, there’s no probably about it, I would be lying. The reason why is that alcohol treatment programs really work. Just ask anyone who’s been to one. They’ll tell you that they went in to an alcohol rehab with a terrible outlook on life and nowhere turn and they came out with a handle on their sobriety and a new lease on life. Okay, well, it may not sound that corny, but I assure you that they’ll, more than likely, have good things to say about alcohol treatment programs. Hell, just ask me. I went to an alcohol treatment program and I turned out just fine. I went in with a crazy addiction to alcohol and no way out of it. The folks at the alcohol rehab turned me around and helped me turn my life around, and that’s no lie.
